Murtagh breaks the code!
Johnny Murtagh won the Marble Hill Stakes over five furlongs at The Curragh today for Aidan O'Brien with Samuel Morse. Murtagh won the race in just over 59 seconds which was a considerable improvement on the debut victory by Samuel Morse at the same venue last month, but then the going was soft. Murtagh chased the leaders before moving through to challenge Purple Glow over a furlong out and kept on well to win by a neck. The Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot is on the radar. The Meath jockey recorded a treble at Tipperary on Thursday where Meow (1/5) won a maidebn for trainer David Wachman. Murtagh also won the opening race with Eskimo (2/11) for O'brien and completed the treble for Dunshaughlin-based handler Eddie Lynam with Jembatt.
