Oliver's army of voices for Swift Festival again
Sparks are expected to fly at the Trim Swift Festival's comedy night on Saturday 3rd July in Knightsbrook Hotel. A host of world-famous stars and national figures are expected to make 'cameo' appearances at the gig. Bertie Ahern and Enda Kenny are expected to make a strong case for the people of Trim to elect them as High King of Ireland, while Roy Keane will reveal that he left Saipan because he missed his beloved dog, Triggs. Michael O'Leary will swoop in to explain how he intends to make more money by taking the seats out of Ryanair planes. Finally, it is rumoured that Jedward might also make an appearance to give some maths and science grinds to the audience. Of course, the festival organisers can't predict who special guest comedians, Oliver Callan, aka 'Nob Nation', and Alan Shortt will decide to impersonate on the night. Both have recently agreed to appear at the annual comedy night as part of the Trim Swift Festival, the talented Callan for the second year in a row. A number of specially commissioned short comedy films are currently also being created for the night by comedy group 'Langerland'. This year, a number of special awards will be presented to national and local figures. The organisers are keeping information on categories and nominations top secret. However, an award for local comical satirist of the year will be presented on the night. The Swift Comedy night is always a great night's entertainment and, at €30, is regarded as good value for a night out with such quality comedy on offer. Tickets are available at www.trimswiftfestival.com or by contacting festival organiser, Barbara Nestor, on (087) 926 8066.
