A whole new look for your favourite weekly...

Throughout its 113-year history, the Meath Chronicle has always striven to remain at the forefront of content and design innovation throughout a turbulent century that itself has brought major changes to how news is presented. This week, we begin a new chapter in our newspaper as we unveil a comprehensive new design which we hope will find favour with our many local readers. This fundamental redesign of the Chronicle gives us the opportunity to better showcase our all-colour broadsheet format and unrivalled local news and sports coverage. Some of the changes may not immediately be evident while others will be obvious from the outset, particularly in our sports section, but this new look, we believe, presents a newspaper that is at once more reader-friendly, more easy to navigate and allows us to make best use of quality photography. While this project gives the newspaper a more appealing design, we have retained most of our popular traditional features while at the same time introducing new elements such as town pages, a new opinion page and a fashion and beauty page. While the newspaper you have in your hand today may look different in many respects, it still retains that comfortable feeling of something that has been part and parcel of Meath life since 1897. This project has taken many months to plan and execute and we sincerely hope you like it. Please leave a comment and let us know what you think of the redesign...
