Cash and phone stolen from car
A handbag containing cash and mobile phone was stolen from a car in Trim last week as the owner was distracted by two females. The incident occurred at the car park of the Castle Arch Hotel at 4.15pm on Sunday afternoon. The lady was approached by two other females looking for directions who are described as being of average height with bleached blond hair and who possibly spoke with a Traveller accent. The handbag contained €300 in cash and a Nokia phone. Gardai are investigating CCTV in the area. Anyone who witnessed the incident or with any further information is asked to contact local Gardai. Trim Garda are also investigating an attempted burglary at the Madison Cosmetic warehouse premises on the Summerhill Road, Trim, between midday and 7pm on Saturday 21st August. The alarm was activated and a window to the premises was broken. Anyone who noticed anything suspicious in the area is asked to contact Trim Garda Station. In a separate incident, approximately €1,500 worth of diesel was stolen from a yard at Moyrath, Kildalkey, between 11.30pm on 19th August and 3.30pm on 20th August. Some 300 gallons of diesel was stolen from a fuel tank. A silver Volvo estate vehicle was seen at the entrance to the yard on the night and anyone with any further information on this vehicle is asked to contact Gardai. Ballivor Gardai are investigating a break-in to a car at Woodfield, Ballivor on Saturday, 21st August where a blue Nokia phone and a black wallet which contained no cash were taken. The driver's door was forced to the 99 registered Peugot 306 van.
