U2 tribute for Palace

Appearing in The Palace on Friday night, 29th October, is U2-2, one of the country’s most successful U2 tribute bands. U2-2 was formed by the current members in 1993 under the name 'Achtung Baby’. During the 90’s, the band quickly became regarded as the greatest tribute to U2 in the world, played every major town in Britain and Ireland and completed successful tours of Europe, the Channel Isles and the Middle East. Their largest show in Ireland was at the Point Depot to over 7,000 people. In Holland, as guests of the Zooropean fanzine, the band got to play alongside U2 at the Feyenoord Stadium in Rotterdam. Travelling in style in their own Pop-Mart tour bus, the band was accidentally led into U2’s changing rooms by mistake! After going solo in 1999 the band reformed in late 2008, Luke Pepper reformed the band and he and Steve were joined on vocals by Frank Bride, with Andy Bott taking up role of Larry Mullen Jnr, becoming U2-2.
