No services for rural elderly
Dear sir - I just got my bus pass, but I can’t get a bus to Dublin, Blanchardstown, to my doctor in Athboy, to my dentist in Leixlip, to my grandchildren in Navan, to hospital in Drogheda, Navan, Mullingar, or to get the train in Dunboyne. We’re just pensioners stuck in a rural village with nowhere to go - no buses, doctors, dentists, not even a library to get books to read, no playground for kids, half finished houses and shops, no law for dogs left by their owners to bark all day? Does anyone in this crap country care? The answer is 'No’. Not even Mr Dempsey with his lavish Mercedes and drivers. Transport won’t bother you lot, but don’t worry, its only the elderly that will be hit. Ballivor will remember when voting at the next election and will make other villages aware also: Summerhill, Rathmoylon and others. And the Greens tell us to get on our bikes and ride to Dublin and maybe get there next day or end up in hospital. Yours, Cecil Cotter, Ballivor.
