Four homes in one Trim estate hit by burglars
Trim Gardai are investigating a spate of burglaries in the area in the past week, including four break-ins at one housing estate in the early hours of last Wednesday morning. Gardai are investigating four burglaries at houses in Rochford Manor which occurred between 1.30am and 6am on Wednesday 8th December. Entry was gained by forcing doors and windows and, in one case, the barrel of a lock was popped. A Panasonic camera, Playstation 3 games console and games were taken in one of the burglaries, while an laptop and Playstation 3 console were taken in another. Two scarves were taken from one of the houses and, in the fourth house, some property was damaged in an attempt to gain entry. It is understood that the houses were occupied at the time of the break-ins. Anyone who noticed anything suspicious in the area is asked to contact Trim Garda Station. Meanwhile, Gardai are also investigating break-ins to two units at the Oaktree Business Park between 7pm on 8th December and 8.30am on 9th December. A Dell laptop was taken from one of the premises and a laptop and a digital camera were taken from the other. A burglary at Supermac's restaurant at the Trim Motor Park is also being investigated. The break-in occurred between 1.20am and 1.40am on Saturday morning. Three males forced a window to gain entry and took empty trays from the cash registers. The men were captured on CCTV. One was wearing a red hoodie and black trousers, another was wearing all black and white runners, and the third male was wearing all back with Addidas tracksuit bottoms and a grey beanie hat. They made off with no money from the premises. A butcher's premises and a dental surgery were broken into overnight between 9pm on 10th December and 8.30am on 11th December. Entry was gained by forcing a window. It is understood that a very small amount of cash was taken from the dental surgery and nothing was taken from the butcher's premises. The theft of a 30ft Dennison tipper trailer from Clonard village between 5pm on 13th December and 4.30am on 14th December is also being investigated. Ballivor Gardai are looking into the theft of 250 litres of home heating oil from a tank at a house at An Gleibe, Ballivor, which was reported on 13th December. The oil is believed to have been siphoned out of the tank sometime between the end of November and 13th December.
