Chamber members to grill election hopefuls

Meath West candidates in the forthcoming general election have been invited to a meeting of Trim and District Chamber of Commerce tomorrow (Thursday) evening. The candidates will be given the chance to speak to local businesspeople and set out their proposed policies to help businesses if they are elected in the forthcoming election. Trim Chamber of Commerce president Yvette Bloomfield said that, as many business-owners are local, this meeting will give candidates a good opportunity to meet with voters and give their views and strategies for promoting and supporting business in Meath. The meeting will take place in Trim Castle Hotel at 6pm and it is proposed that each candidate/party will be given an equal amount of time to talk about what they propose they would do for business in County Meath, and particularly in Trim. There will then be a question and answer session when those in attendance will have a chance to put their questions to the candidates. The meeting will finish by 8pm sharp. Ms Bloomfield said that all are welcome to attended. She added that, to date, Fianna Fail, Fine Gael, Labour, Sinn Fein and the Workers' Party all have confirmed their attendance. Any other party or independent candidate who would also like to attend can contact Yvette Bloomfield on (087) 2600 880.
