Oldcastle braces itself for 'The Full Monty’
The people who brought you the hilarious 'Mock Wedding' have been busy planning a follow up show and are about to unleash another night of action filled entertainment. The comedy film, 'The Full Monty', was released in 1997 and tells the story of how a few unemployed friends decide to form a male strip dance troupe to raise funds for their friend Gaz. Gaz is separated from his wife and needs the money to support his son. In the local version, the groom from the mock wedding, Willie Smallhorn, (aka Oliver Gilsenan), has run into a few money problems of his own, and like the film, his friends decide to bail him out. They reckon that the locals will pay money to see them do 'The Full Monty' .... and so the scene is set for The Mock Wedding Part 2 …. 'The Full Monty Show!' Many that were at the Mock Wedding may wonder how did the honeymoon go? What ever happened to Granny? Will Willie's promiscuous past come back to haunt him? The answers to all this and a lot more are being revealed but there is only one way to find out. Get your tickets and come to the show. Due to the incredible demand for tickets the last time, the show will go on for two nights, Friday 11th and Saturday 12th February. However, as this will be an all seated event, there will only be space for similar overall numbers as last time and therefore tickets will be limited and on a first come basis. Last time all the tickets were sold out in advance, so book early. The format has changed a little from the last time in an effort to keep ticket prices as keen as possible. The good news is that tickets prices will be cheaper (€20 each) and this will include The Full Monty Show, refreshments afterwards and a special after show Party in McEvoy's Pub, Dromone with a 60s/70s/80s Disco on the Friday night and with the after show party in Teddies Pub, Moylagh on the Saturday night with Music by Eddie Quinn. And by the way, it's not just a show for the ladies (although we do think they will rather enjoy it!), as members of the fairer sex will also be on stage and it will be a great night's entertainment. No children are allowed. Doors open each night at 7pm with show starting 7.30pm. The Full Monty Show will be held in Moylagh Community Centre on Friday 11th and Saturday 12th February 2011 and all funds will go towards the ongoing upgrade works to the Community Centre.
