Peadar Tóibín (Sinn Fein)

Peadar Tóibín is Deputy Mayor of Navan. He is recently married to Deirdre and has a Degree in Economics and a Postgraduate Degree in Enterprise from the Smurfit Business School, UCD. He is chairperson of the Save Navan Hospital campaign, which is fighting for a fully-functional hospital in Meath. The campaign recently brought 10,000 people onto the streets in support of the hospital. Cllr Tóibín says he is currently leading discussions with the HSE and Minister for Health on the issue. He is also the chairperson of the Meath Schools Campaign, which is seeking to develop extra capacity in secondary schools and to replace decrepit prefabs in primary schools with modern school buildings. He is a member of the Meath County Development Board and authored the 'Developing Jobs in Meath' strategy. Cllr Tóibín is also a director of Meath Tourism, is the PRO for Navan Facelift and led the Windows and Doors Campaign which secured proper insulation, windows and doors in local council houses. He is leas cathaoirleach of Conradh na Gaeilge An Uaimh. A fan of GAA and rugby, he has played for both Navan O'Mahonys GFC and Navan Rugby Club.
