Ronan Carolan (Independent)

Ronan Carolan was born and raised in Navan and lives at Athlumeny, Navan, where he has an office. He holds an honours degree in law, a postgraduate diploma in finance and has studied economics at the London School of Economics and is a chartered financial adviser. He works in London as a wealth manager and economic adviser and says his work role and academic background enables him to fulfill a vision for the future of Ireland and Meath West. He wants to change Ireland from an encumbered country chained by an over-taxing government into a model economy of high real GDP growth, full employment and a low cost of living. He wants to see constitutional limitations on future governments' ability to interrupt the Irish landscape and tax its people, in order to forge a society attractive to outside investment and populated by leaders in all fields of endeavour. He also wants to see the removal of bureaucracy and the removal of dependence on international debt markets to fund government agendas. This, he says, would foster an environment where the government serves its population by policing the exports of goods/services, high living standards and low cost bases for individuals and businesses.
