St Mary's new production a load of 'Nunsense'
St Mary's Musical Society 2011 musical, 'Nunsense', will run at the Solstice Arts Centre Navan from 7th-9th and from 13th-16th April. A hilarious off-Broadway musical, it has been adapted by its creator into a mega-musical version, which includes a chorus and some aditional supporting characters. 'Nunsense' is a madcap revue that satirises convent life with a hysterical anything-goes sense of fun. The show's premise is that it is supposedly a benefit revue put on by the Little Sisters of Hoboken to raise money to bury the last four of 52 nuns who died after being accidently poisoned by the convent cook. The nuns do song-and-dance routines, conduct an audience quiz and indulge in many other shenanigans. Sister Mary Regina, the Mother Superior, tries in vain to maintain order, but she is repeatedly undone by her own irrepressible mischievousness.
