Model Vogue to leave cyclists breathless in Heritage Cycle
Glamorous model Vogue Williams will lead off this year's Meath Heritage Cycle Tour, which will take place again in July, with the action getting underway on Sunday 24th. The routes will cater for every type of cyclist with four different distances making up the event, including a 15k family fun spin, a 50k short distance Tara Loop route, followed by a 100k mid-distance Royal Tour cycle and a 160k long-distance Royal Challenge stretch. The 2011 An Post Cycle Series was officially launched this week by race ambassador Sean Kelly. The five-event series takes place across the country between May and September. The Series is a joint initiative between An Post and the Irish Sports Council, which aims to encourage people to get back on their bikes and out into their communities this summer. Alongside Kelly, four other ambassadors have been chosen for the series, including hurling greats Sean "g " hAilpín and Dan Shanahan and models Vogue Williams and Corina Grant, who will also be cycling in different tours over the coming months. Vogue Williams, one of the stars of the RTE 2 series 'Fade Street', will take part in the Meath Heritage Cycle Tour. "The great thing about the Cycle Series is that it is an event that everyone can enjoy at a pace that suits. Cycling is a really fantastic way to keep fit and healthy and I'm looking forward to taking to the roads of Meath in July," she said. The Meath Heritage Cycle Tour is the third event of this year's series, which kicks off with the An Post Tour of Sligo on Sunday 8th May. This is followed by the Tour de Burren on Saturday 18th June. The penultimate event of the summer is the Sean Kelly Tour of Waterford on Sunday 28th August and the final tour is the Cork Rebel Tour which takes place on Saturday 10th September.
