Slane Castle is set to mark 30 years of concerts with the Kings of Leon on Saturday but on Friay night, there's an alternative event The Republic of Loose, Alabama 3 (acoustic and unplugged), Riptide Movement and Cold Comfort on stage in the Millhouse in the village. DJ Neil Young will play out the night after a feast of live acts brought to Slane to entertain on the night before the main event. Before the village is closed to traffic, revellers can prepare for the main event by getting down to the Millhouse from 6.30pm on Friday evening where there will be food, music and a party atmosphere in the grounds of Slane's only boutique Hotel, situated across the road from Slane Castle's river gate. The line-up for Friday night is a strong one with the Dublin Funk Ensemble, The Republic of Loose and the Gritty sounding, Alabama 3 sharing headline. They will be joined on the night by up and coming rockers, Riptide Movement, as well as Cold Comfort who feature the very talented Rob Walsh and Anna Doran on vocals. There is camping available from Castleparks, the Newrath Stud, Slane Farm Hostel, Janeville and also a luxury camping package in the grounds of the Millhouse Boutique Hotel on the banks of the River Boyne.
