Mullagh 'Must Be The Place' for Brunnock

Kells-native, New York-based Michael Brunnock, plays one night at The White Star in Mullagh, this Friday night. He is seen as one of the new vanguard of songwriters, now playing and recording in New York City's lower east side. Brunnock recently collaborated with David Byrne on the soundtrack for the upcoming movie, 'This Must Be The Place', starring Sean Penn. Due for release worldwide in September 2011, This Must Be the Place is Italian director Paolo Sorrentino's first English-language film. Brunnock sings six songs in the movie, which made its debut at the Cannes Film Festival on May 20, 2011, where it won the jury prize. Brunnock is scheduled to release his own album, 'The Orchard', in September to coincide with the release of the film. Michael will be joined on the night By Pearse Halpin whose new single 'Found It' is due for release in August. Michael Brunnock plays at The White Star on 22nd July. The performance starts at 9.30pm and admission is free.
