Trim relegated

Trim's 62 year tenure in senior football came to a disappointing end at Pairc Tailteann last night following their 1-11 to 2-9 SFC relegation play-off defeat by Duleek/Bellewstown. Duleek/Bellewstown played the majority of the game with a numerical disadvantage following the 15th minute dismissal of Stephen McArdle and the 35th minute sending off of Podge Howard, but they held on to condemn the second oldest senior club to the intermediate ranks. Despite playing most of the first-half with 14 men Duleek/Bellewstown led at the break by 2-9 to 0-5 and even though they lost another player early in the second period and they failed to score after the break they stood strong to ensure their survival.
