Coca-Cola jobs will benefit east Meath
The announcement that the Coca-Cola company is to create 100 jobs in the east Meath area near Drogheda has been welcomed by Fianna Fail Senator for East Meath, Thomas Byrne. The jobs are to be create at its shared services facility in Drogheda. Forty positions have already been filled, involving IT, supply chain, legal and human resources functions. Senator Byrne has welcomed the announcement by Coca-Cola that it is to expand its operations outside Drogheda in east County Meath. "This is wonderful news for the people of east Meath and the entire north-east region. Coca-Cola is an excellent company with a strong loyalty to its workforce and I delighted to see that they have demonstrated their confidence in east Meath by investing in their new offices outside Drogheda," said Senator Byrne. "Coca-Cola have a long-standing record of employment creation in the north-east and this is a further demonstration of the calibre of the workforce in the area," added Senator Byrne. "Significantly, this is also a rates boost to County Meath and shows that Meath can compete for multinationals despite not being in a region that qualifies for extensive incentives from government. All jobs agencies and the local authority must build on this," he added.
