Festive entertainment with Robin Hood in Trim
Trim Musical Society's 120-strong stage school, Stagecraft, presents its annual pantomine, Robin Hood, over the coming weeks. written by Craig Regan, directed by Helen McHugh with choreography by Joanne Kennedy, it will be staged in new venue Scoil Mhuire hall, in the girls secondary school, beside St Patrick's Church, with th ehelp of 20 adults. Set in the magical Sherwood Forest, Brandon Walsh plays the hero Robin Hood the loveable outlaw who is quick to recruit soldiers to join his merry cause against the evil Queen Jane, Bernadette Walsh. It's not long before he falls in love with the very fair Maid Marian or Jane Brogan. Loads of characters feature, from Auntie Septic to the Pantomime Dame, Gareth Mahony. Luke French is the hard of seeing Blinkin. Sean Flanagan plays Little John. Aine Fox is Scarlett. Richard Harrahill is Friar Tuck. The Sheriff is none other than Sean Fox who has many a time donned a dress in pantomime. This year he has the love of the two sisters, Latrine and Eileen - Louise Cassidy and Laura Cahill - but there is no sisterly love between these two. And where would Trim's pantomime be without the two characters OdZ and Endz? This mad duo should come with a Government Health warning they are so loveably contagious - this year they do a little bit of decorating in the Castle for the Queen - not a good idea. Audiences who look forward to the antics of this pair of head wreckers should this year be prepared - they are just fab. Songs like Help, Thriller, 500 miles, Party Rock, Zedwards Lipstick, Beat It, Go the Distance, Born this way and loads of Christmas party tunes will have audiences in mood for fun. Dancers are a huge part of the scene in Sherwood Forest with Emma Thornton, Kate Dunne, Aoife NiCheallaigh, Lucy Gormley, Aideen Downes, Cara Foley, Charlotte O'Donnell, Carolanna Foley, Megan Walsh, Lorraine Stack, Sara Jane Smith, Leah Wolfson, Alika Lynch, Joanne Rochford, Ri Fox, Aine Mooney, Aislinn Greene, Denise Carney, Caelainn Kerrigan, Sionnain Greene.
