Homecoming gig in Beggy's for The Lost Brothers

The Lost Brothers - Oisín Leech from Navan and Mark McCausland from Omagh - will play a 'homecoming' concert in Beggy's Bar on Bridge Street in Navan on Monday 19th December. Last week, their new album 'So Long John Fante' was the album of the week on RTE Radio 1, played on numerous shows. The Lost Brothers released 'So Long John Fante' in November, launching it with a gig in The Workman's Club on Wellington Quay in Dublin. "The album launch was great fun and we really appreciated that so many people came to the launch from Navan. "It felt like a Sunday session in Birmingham's pub!" Leech says. "We sing close harmonies with simple arrangements, sometimes performing as a duo and sometimes with a band. "Our focus is on crafting songs that could have been written 50 years ago or 50 years in the future. We ignore musical trends or fashions and remain true to the song," he explains. The Lost Brothers were popular performers at the recent 'Other Voices' recording sessions in Dingle. They will tour in January in support of the new album, with the 'Certain 3 Tour'. They'll play Thursday 12th January at the Linehall Arts Centre, Castlebar; Saturday 14th the Half Moon Club, Cork; Sunday 15th at the Pine Lodge, Myrtleville, Co Cork; Thursday 19th, Bourkes, Limerick; Friday 20th at Swan Lane, Navan; Saturday 21st, Theatre Royal, Waterford; Thursday 26th at the Roisín Dubh Galway; Friday 27th at the The Workman's Club Dublin; Saturday 28th at The Spirit Store Dundalk; and Saturday 4th February at The Model, Sligo. They performed at Other Voices New York in October. "The concert at Beggy's Bar in Navan will be the Christmas So Long John Fante homecoming gig and we plan to play a few songs we don't usually do," saysd Oisin. "Some old friends are coming home for Christmas that day and they will all be coming down for the gig. "We really enjoyed playing Beggy's Bar last summer and are looking forward to coming back for a winter gig".
