Supermarket takes top honours at Kells Chamber Business Awards

TEN local businesses were honoured at the Kells and District Chamber of Commerce Business Awards last Saturday with SuperValu, Kells, winning the overall Best Business Award. Larry O'Brien of SuperValu was presented with his award by Chamber president, Geraldine Gaughran. SuperValu also won the award for the Best Business for Business in Kells. Damien Farrelly, the 2FM DJ, was the MC for the awards ceremony, which took place during the black tie president's ball at The Headfort Arms Hotel. In addition to local businesspeople, Shane McEntee, Minister of State with the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine; town council cathaiorleach, Cllr Brian Collins, and Kevin Stewart, director of economic development and innovation at Meath County Council, were also in attendance at the event. At the ceremony, Mr McEntee announced plans for a forthcoming food expo that will showcase the output of growers and food producers from north Meath and nearby areas, which will take place in the Headfort Arms Hotel on 19th April.
