Demon barber for Patrick Street!
The Trim musical version of 'Sweeney Todd' is far more humorous than the film version starring Johnny Depp. This production of the classic tells the suspenseful, razor-sharp story of barber Benjamin Barker (aka Sweeney Todd), who returns to grimy 19th-century London vowing to extract revenge for his false imprisonment with the help of immoral baker Mrs Lovett. Their twisted strategy: Sweeney will murder his victims in his barber chair and Mrs Lovett will turn them into the tastiest meat pies in London. Trim Musical Society's production of Sweeney Todd features a cast of 50 talented actors. The principal cast includes Ray O'Hare as Sweeney Todd, Gwen Bagnall as Mrs Lovett, Danielle Williamson as Johanna; Craig Regan as Anthony; Chris Ramsey as Judge Turpin; Philip Scott as Beadle Bamford; Ronan Walsh as Adolfo Pirelli, Kevin Fagan as Tobias Ragg and Helen McHugh as Beggar Woman/Lucy. Sweeney Todd is one of the most demanding musicals Trim Musical Society have taken on in their 26 year history. The Sweeney Todd cast will be accompanied by an amazing 12 piece orchestra. Alan Kinsella once again is back in the helm of director for the production, with musical direction by Graham Walsh and choreography by Grace McGrath. Sweeney Todd will be performed in Scoil Mhuire Girl's Secondary School from Tuesday April 10th to Saturday April 14th nightly at 8pm. Tickets will cost €15. There will also be a concession for our preview/opening night of €12 for all tickets.
