Slane Easter festival set to celebrate link with St Patrick
The Flame of Slane Festival, which takes place over the Easter weekend, will celebrate the village as the home of St Patrick and the organisers are hoping it will become an iconic national festival. The highlight of the event will be the lighting of the Pascal Fire on the Hill of Slane as St Patrick is said to have done. The events will kick off on the Hill of Slane at 7.30pm on Easter Saturday with a procession, culminating in the lighting of the fire. This will be a truly spectacular celebration following the themes of flame and light, and will include giant puppets, festoons, sky lanterns, light projections and live music. The event will be performed in association with award-winning event organisers, LUXe. The event itself is free and everyone is invited to attend.
