Trim town councillor steps down

Labour councillor Donall O'Brien has resigned his seat on Trim Town Council for health reasons. A son of the late Danny O'Brien who served on the council for two terms, Donall O'Brien was elected to the council in 2009. Tributes were paid to Donall O'Brien at this week's Trim Town Council meeting by officials and fellow councillors, following the surprise announcement of his resignation. A replacement is expected to be co-opted onto the council at the June meeting.
