John M Macken, Stamullen Mr John M Macken (90), Preston Hill, Stamullen, who has died, was a retired farmer, aged 90. A native of Loughmane, Naul, Co Dublin, he was a big horse-racing fan. Predeceased by his brothers, Dan, Tom and Willie, and sisters, Ettie, Mary and Margaret, he is survived by his wife, Mona; son, John G Macken, 'The Paddock', Preston Hill; daughter, Mary Lenehan, 'Rockfield', Rudder, Stamullen; son-in-law, John; daughter-in-law, Jackie; brother, Paddy, Dublin; sisters, Cora and Bernadette, Dublin, and grandchildren, Robert, Jack, Eddie and Caroline. The funeral took place from St Patrick's Church, Stamullen, to Moorechurch Cemetery, Julianstown. _____________________________________________________________ Anne Gaffney, Staholmog The death recently occurred in Kilmainhamwood Nursing Home of Ms Anne (Nan) Gaffney, Staholmog, Carlanstown, Kells. She was aged 87. Daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Patrick Gaffney of Staholmog, she served as church sacristan in the local church for 30 years. Deceased is survived by her brother, Christopher Gaffney, Carnaross; nephews and nieces. The funeral took place from Staholmog Church to the local cemetery. _____________________________________________________________ Annie Ryan, Bohermeen The passing on 25th July last of Mrs Annie Ryan, Grange, Bohermeen, Navan, at the age of 52, was a source of widespread sorrow to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. A member of the Rispin family from Bohermeen, she died peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, after a long illness. Mrs Ryan spent much of her young life in New York and, following her marriage, she returned to Ireland to rear her family. Deceased is survived by her husband, Denis; sons, Tommy and Sean; daughter, Mary; father, Pat; brothers, Andrew, Seamus, Danny and Edward; sisters, Mary Murphy and Loreto Martin; mother-in-law, Mary; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces and other relatives. She was predeceased by her mother, Rose, just last April. The funeral Mass in St Ultan's Church, Bohermeen, was concelebrated by her uncle, Fr Rory O'Brien, assisted by Fr Andy Doyle, PP; Fr Phonsie Mackin, PE, and Fr Eamon O'Brien, PE. Burial took place in the adjoining cemetery.
