Páirc Táilteann prepares for American invasion
Grounds staff at Páirc Táilteann have today put the finishing touches to their preparations ahead of tomorrow's high school American Football double bill. The hallowed turf of Meath GAA headquarters has been transformed into a gridiron and the traditional familiar American Football goalposts have been installed at either end of the 100 yard long pitch. Action will get underway at 4.0pm tomorrow (Friday) afternoon with Villanova College and High Park High School clashing in their Canadian High School League opener. That contest will be followed at 7.30 by the meeting of Scottsdale Arizona's Notre Dame Prep against Fr Judge High School of Philadelphia in their High School season opener. One interested spectator expected to be in the crowd at Páirc Táilteann will be 2006 Us Ryder Cup captain Tom Lehman. Lehman hails from Scottsdale and his son, Thomas is a quarterback for the Notre Dame Saints.
