Kells thinks pink ahead of annual charity walk in Kells

The heritage town of Kells has turned pink in the run-up to the fourth annual Pink Ribbon Walk, which takes place this coming weekend. The historic landmark the Spire of Loyd will be lit up in neon pink every night until this Sunday to help highlight the event, thanks to the support of Kells Town Council. There have been lots of imaginative, quirky and successful fundraising events in the lead up to the walk, including sponsored treadmill runs, charity auctions and pink parties - and even celebrity hair-styling carried out by three Meath GAA stars in Hairbase hairdressers at Suffolk Street! The fun will start on Saturday with the sponsored Pink Ribbon Cycle, organised by Moynalty Cycling Club. The proceeds from this event will be split between the Kells Pink Ribbon Walk and Meath Palliative Care. The main event takes place on Sunday and the local community, businesses, sporting clubs, Kells Chamber and Kells Town Council all have wholeheartedly thrown their support behind this unique fundraising event for Action Breast Cancer.
