O'Neill resigns council seat
Meath County Councillor in the east Meath area, Seamus O'Neill from Duleek, has announced he is resigning his seat. The publican and undertaker says he has found it extremely hard to manage all aspects of his work commitments as well as fulfilling his role as a councillor. "I cannot therefore give the people of Meath the required commitment needed at this time," he says. He has nominated his partner, former Fianna Fail activist, Sharon Keogan, as his co-option replacement. See this week's Meath Chronicle for more.
