This year, fans of Les Miserables are spoiled. In December, Hugh Jackman, Russel Crowe and Kilmessan's Killian Donnelly come to the screens in the movie adaptation. But before that Meath Youth Musical Society are pulling out all the stops with their most ambitious show yet as Les Mis, as it is affectionately known to its millions of fans, takes to the stage at the Solstice for five shows. With an elaborate set, professional costumes, wigs and makeup , an 11-piece orchestra under the baton Loreto Navan's Olivia Toman will accompany an amazing cast. The production team , including choreographer Erin Kenny, auditioned over 120 aspiring stars over the course of two weekends. Eventually whittled down to a cast of 45 it stars Tom Moran of Dunboyne as the eponymous hero Jean Valjean who is pursued across France for 25 years by the dogged Inspector Javert, played by Paul Mescal, who only took to the stage this year as the Phantom of Opera in Maynooth. Along the way, the audience will be treated to some of the greatest musical songs of all time including 'I dreamed a dream', 'Bring Him Home', 'On My Own' and 'Do You Hear the People Sing?'. Tickets are €12 to €15 with a special gala opening night where guests can enjoy a wine reception and free entry to a grand draw that includes Iphones and Ipod, tickets to top family shows at Christmas and dinner and accommodation in hotels from Knightsbrook to the K Club, including a round of golf.
