Meade on the double

Noel Meade took his tally for the season to 21 winners with a double at Fairyhouse yesterday for popular Ryanair boss Michael O'Leary. Davy Russell partnered the first of the two Meade winners when Benevolent, fourth in a Downpatrick bumper last month, made amends when making a winning debut in a maiden hurdle. Nina Carberry was the apt choice to complete the double when she won the 'Fairyhouse Sponsors Nina Carberry Flat Race' with Ally Cascade which was formerly trained by her father before moving down the road to Castletown. The modest jackpot pool of €2,180 wasn't won and is carried forward to Limerick today.
