Navan lose in Naas

Navan RFC made a losing trip to Naas today for the Leinster Senior League Shield semi-final. Hosts Naas proved too strong on this occasion and won by 45-12 and will now meet Skerries in the decider. Navan return to AIL Div 2B action next Friday night at Balreask Old against Boyne at 8.0 with a big crowd expected. The game is the latest instalment between these two local rivals and promises to be a keen contest as both sides have made excellent starts to the season winning their opening two AIL Div 2 B games. Boyne defeated Connemara (24-6) and Sligo (41-0) while Navan overcame Sligo (27-12) and Instonians (27-14). Last night Ratoath defeated Ashbourne by 12-3 in the McGee Cup to follow up on their 6-0 win over Navan the previous week.
