No joy at the Palace

Navan's visit to the home of Armagh yesterday, the Palace Grounds, proved a test too far as the Meath side lost more ground in the AIL Div 2B title race. Navan went into the game on the back of a victory in the previous round, but they were unable to build on that positive result and lost out by seven points. Hosts Armagh won by 17-10 with three tries and a conversion. Navan stayed in touch and managed a converted try and a penalty. Navan host Nenagh next Saturday at Balreask Old in the final round of AIL Div2B action before Christmas. The Tipperary side will come to Meath on the back of a 16-12 victory over Skerries yesterday and will be confident that a win in Navan will keep them at the business end of the table. Nenagh are currently second three points behind Rainey Old Boys who had a 31-0 win over Sligo yesterday. Boyne travelled to Fitzgerald Park yesterday and defeated hosts Thomons 24-22 with Niall Kerbey claiming four penalties and a conversion.
