Ashbourne try to raise funds for charity

Ashbourne RFC will hold a fun run and walk from the clubhouse on St Stephen's Day, 2.0, in aid of the local Meals on Wheels group and Special Olympics. "If you have nothing else to do come along and have an enjoyable afternoon in aid of good causes," said Ashbourne official Bill Duggan. "There will be soup and sandwiches on your return. There will also be a seven-a-side game of rugby between Ashbourne and our returning Exiles at 3.0. Ashbourne can look back on a encouraging 2012 when they reached the Provincial Towns' Cup semi-final where they lost out to Tullow. "We would like to thank all our members and supporters for their help and support throughout the season and wish everybody a happy and safe Christmas," added Duggan.
