Horse-meet in Navan estate!

Residents in one Navan estate have found horses gathering on the green areas over the past few days which they say could lead to hazardous playing conditions for children. The Clonmagadden area in Navan, near the Aura Leisure Link, seems to be a popular grazing ground for some horses that appear to be roaming free in the area. This morning there were three horses loose on the green area where children from the estate usually play football. An adjoining green area has some slides and swings for the local children. Residents commented to the Meath Chronicle that they were fed up with horses and that sometimes as many as six are roaming around the area. It is not clear who owns the horses - they all seem to be in reasonable condition and one was wearing a headcollar which suggests that it might have been led to the area. One possible positive is that there is now plenty of manure deposited on the children's play area and that will probably produce a better crop of grass later this year? The Gardai had been alerted - "We are tired telling the Gardai about it" - commented one resident. The houses in Clonmagadden are in one of the newer Navan estates - constructed about nine years ago. A number of sulkys have been seen in the Clonmagadden area from time to time. Click on link (if necessary) for short video: http://youtu.be/IHSkyKslVCM
