Meath face trip to Aughrim

Meath manager Mick O'Dowd will be bringing his team to Aughrim for the Leinster SFC quarter-final on Saturday 15th June after Wicklow dumped Longford out of the provincial race today.

A goal from Sean Furlong early in the the second-half was the decisive score as Wicklow got the better of  Longford by 1-15 to 0-16 at Aughrim today.

Wicklow were ahead by 0-9 to 0-5 at the interval and were boosted by that second-half goal.


Wicklow put their poor league form behind them to record a morale-boosting win for manager Harry Murphy who saw his team tamed by the Royal County at Dr Cullen Park, Carlow 12 months ago.

Meath defeated Wicklow by 0-16 to 0-11 at Dr Cullen Park 12 months ago.

Wicklow's reward is a home quarter-final against Meath on Saturday 15th June.
