Two-year ban imposed by GAA Co Board
Meath GAA Co Board sanctioned a two-year ban on a Ratoath GAA clubman at Monday night's meeting in Navan.
The 96-week suspension was imposed on Anthony Graydon and was included in the monthly list that was sanctioned by delegates. The ban will apply until April 2015.
The ban was imposed arising out of an investigation into an incident which took place during the second-half of the u-14 FC final between Trim and Ratoath at Skryne on Thursday 23rd May.
The incident occurred following a decision by an umpire to award a '45’ which ultimately led to a Trim goal. Mr Graydon, allegedly, disputed the decision to award the '45’ and an exchange with the umpire ensued.
The incident was brought to the attention of the referee Dessie Smyth who along with some Skryne officials and other match officials quickly intervened.
A member of An Garda Siochana was also present.
Play resumed subsequently with Ratoath going on to record a comfortable 5-8 to 3-3 win.
