The new sculpture at Effernock, Trim.

New sculpture for Trim roundabout

A new sculpture has been erected on the roundabout at Effernock, Trim, on the Trim-Dublin Road, depicting a male figure ringing a bell.
The sculpture, which cost €20,000, is entitled ‘At the End of the Day’ and was created by Cork sculptor Patrick Barry.
The artwork consists of a male figure in historic garments ringing a bell. The bell represents a common theme that runs through the heritage and architecture of the town.
The bell tower is 3.5m in height and has been fabricated from zinc. The male figure is 2m in height and is made from Kilkenny limestone. The bell is copper.
The sculpture is a Per Cent For Art Scheme project. Funding was made available through the Trim Water Scheme, which was completed several years ago.
