Moynalvey prove too strong
Moynalvey took the SFC points from a crucial re-fixed game against Walterstown at Ashbourne following a tough encounter with a 1-12 to 0-8 victory.
Cillian O'Sullivan's 20th minute goal gave Moynalvey the edge following a tight first-half as they took a 1-5 to 0-5 advantage to the dressing room. O'Sullivan also pointed three frees with Anthony Forde and Barry O'Keeffe completing the tally.
Walterstown were much more wasteful with the chances created and tallied six first-half wides and only five points with Alban Crosbie (three) and Paul Donnellan splitting the posts.
Referee Joey Curley also issued yellow cards to Crosbie and Christopher Reynolds in that opening half.
Moynalvey distated the majority of the second-half and at one stage were ahead by 1-10 to 0-6 before the sides traded a brace of points in the closing stages.
O'Sullivan (three), Donoghue, O'Keefe, Padraig Harnan and Ciaran Ennis aded the Moynalvey points while Cathal Hennelly, Donnellan and Christopher Reynolds split the posts for Walterstown.
