Pedestrian killed in Trim
Gardai in Trim are appealing for witnesses to a fatal collision which took place in the town in the early hours of Monday morning.
A man in his 40 was killed and another man in his 20s was seriously injured in the incident which occurred at Castle Street shortly before 1am. Both men were pedestrians who were struck by a car.
The body of the deceased man was taken to Our Lady's Hospital in Navan while the injured man was removed by ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.
Castle Street is closed this morning while garda collision investigators examine the scene, which is beside Trim Garda Station.
