Early exit for Parkvilla
Parkvilla exited the FAI Intermediate Cup at the first hurdle this season when they produced a disappointing performance against Dublin visitors to Navan Sacred Heart from the Killinarden area.
The tie was scoreless at the half-time although both sides created some reasonable chances with Sacred Heart probably shading the verdict in terms of chances created.
Parkvilla went close on a couple of occasion in thes econd-half, but Sacred Heart substitute Harmony Mercer broked the deadlock with 15 minutes remaining.
The visitors added a second soon after through Sodiq Oquntola before Parkvilla got back into contention with fine Ryan Murphy strike in the 78th minute.
However, the Navan men gifted Sacred Heart a third goal before the end and that killed the contest.
Manager Morgan Hughes was very disappointed with the performance, especially with the way the second and third goals were conceded.
There was atribute to the late Tommy Rogers before the start of the game with a minute's applause.
