Barney Allen to perform ceremonial throw-in for SFC decider

Meath GAA Co Board continue their countdown to the eagerly-awaited 2013 SFC Keegan Cup final next Sunday where popular former Co Board chairman Barney Allen will be the guest of honour charged with performing the now traditional ceremonial throw-in before the big game at 3.30pm

Kilmainham clubman Patrick Nelis will take charge of the final between Summerhill and Na Fianna while Moynalty will play Boardsmill in the Junior B decider at 1.30.

The Co Board have also arranged that the 1988 Meath All-Ireland-winning team will also be acknowledged for their marvellous achievement 25 years ago when they defeated Cork in the decider.

 On that occasion Meath became the first-time winners of the new Sam Maguire Cup after the original one was retired after the 1987 decider, which Meath also won at the expense of Cork to give the Royal County a unique place in GAA history.

 All this will, no doubt, be recalled when the players are introduced to the spectators at Sunday's big game with Meath's Central Council official Brendan Cummins the most likely to conduct the ceremony.

Admission to the game on Sunday will be by ticket (€15) with the usual concessions on production of valid identification.Tickets will be on sale at booths outside the Brews Hill entrance and the Commons Road entrance. 

A top class match programme will also be on sale (€4).

If the final ends in a draw, the replay will take place on 27th October.
