Former Meath GAA sponsor signs for soccer club
The former sponsor of the Meath GAA football team - Comer Group International - will be backing the new-look Galway FC in the League of Ireland next season after agreeing a three-year sponsorship deal.
Luke Comer was the man behind the sponsorship of the Meath GAA team for three years and he was replaced this year by Tayto Park.
Luke Comer is a native of Galway and a resident in Dunboyne for many years.
“We are delighted to announce that the Comer Group (www.comerproperty.ie) have agreed to be primary sponsor of Galway FC for the next three seasons and we would like to thank the Comer Group for their support,” stated a spokesperson for the club.
Galway FC will submit an application for a licence to the FAI for the 2014 season which, it is understood, will kick-off on Friday 7th March 2014.
It is believed that Galway FC will be the only representative from the county in next year’s League of Ireland and the committee /board is comprised of members of Galway Utd Supporters’ Trust, Galway FA, Salthill Devon and Mervue Utd.
Galway will play at the former Terryland Park, now Eamon Deacy Park.
