Mystery of the hurling manager!
Meath's new hurling manager is ready to take over it emerged at Monday night's Co Board meeting in Navan where the new boss was, apparently, ratified by delegates.
However, at this stage the identity of the man who will be trying to get Meath out of the NHL Div 2B remains a mystery.
In what was an unusual development, delegates sanctioned the appointment of an unidentified person as manager of the Meath senior hurling team.
Co Board chairman chairman Conor Tormey explained to delegates that agreement had been reached with 'a man’ to manage the Meath senior hurling team, but that he (the proposed new manager) had requested that the announcement should not be made until this weekend (Saturday or Sunday).
“It would be helpful if we could get this appointment ratified now so as not to delay the appointment,” stated the chairman.
There was no comment from the delegates and that suggested that the new manager was ratified.
