Carberry back with a double
After more than six months on the sideline recovering from a shoulder injury Paul Carberry returned to race-riding today at Fairyhouse with a double, the first in the opening race for Noel Meade and he followed that with a winner for Gordon Elliott soon after.
Carberry partnered Ally Cascade to victory in the opening hurdle and the victory was all the more memorable as his sister Nina sold the horse to Gigginstown.
The trainer suggested Ally Cascade could be sent over fences next.
The popular jockey completed the double when he partnered Not For Changing to victory in a handicap hurdle and he had to work a little bit harder than in the first race to get the verdict by a neck.
