St Patrick's claim u-21 title

St Patrick's made a successful trip from Satmullen to Navan this afternoon as they claimed the u-21 A FC title with an emphatic victory against St Michael's in the wind and the rain at Simonstown.

This was a good performance by St Patrick's who performed well against the strong wind in the opening half and were ahead by 1-4 to 0-4 at the interval with Sean Mooney finding the net in the 12th minute.

St Michael's were never in contention after the resumption although they reduced the deficit to two points when Ronan Lynch sent over for what was their last score.

Boosted by the elements, St Patrick's picked off the ponts and won well with Neil O'Flaherty emerging as the top scorer with six points.

'This will be a great boost for the club, the players worked hard in training and deserve this victory,' commented manager Barry Campbell.
