Brogan point secures dramatic victory

Kilskyre/Moylagh staged a late rally to win the u-21 B HC title by 1-15 to 2-11 against Dunderry in a thriller at Kildalkey on Sunday afternoon with Charles Brogan hitting the winning point.

This was a double disappointment for Dunderry as they were edged out in a replay by another combined side, Blackhall Gaels/Drumree 12 months ago.

Despite the difficult conditions both sides contributed to a superb game and Dunderry were ahead by 2-5 to 0-9 at the interval with Christopher Harrington helping himself to a brace of goals.

It was looking good for Dunderry after the break and by the end of the third-quarter they had forged into a comfortable 2-9 to 0-10 advantage.

Two well-taken points at that stage from Willie McGrath kept Kilskyre/Moylagh in contention and when Sean Geraghty sent over with five minutes remaining it gave them a good chance if they could manage a goal.

McGrath worked his way in for the crucial goal and when Geraghty and McGrath pointed it tied the scores.

Brogan then gained possession and drilled the sliotar between the posts to seal a dramatic victory.
