New role for Kevin Dowd
Popular Dunderry clubman Kevin Dowd was last night ratified as a selector with the Meath senior hurling team by delegates at the first Co Board meeting of the year at Áras Táilteann.
Dowd will join Nick Fitzgerald and manager Cillian Farrell on the sideline ahead of the start of the new campaign.
Meath hurlers will open their 2014 campaign against St Patrick’s in the Kehoe Cup on Sunday 19th January.
This week they will play University of Limerick in a challenge game.
Meath will open their NHL Div 2B campaign on Sunday 16th February when they travel to Garden County to play Wicklow.
Meath will also play Mayo, Fingal, Armagh and Down.
