Navan edged out in Balreask bruiser
There was disappointment for Navan when they lost 0-7 to Greystones in this bruising AIL Div 2B at Balreask Old today and all but waved goodbye to their chances of promotion.
The home side had plenty of possession yet couldn't manage to beat a team that are in second place.
The only try of a bitterly cold afternoon was scored on 27 minutes when Greystones hooker Burschi Wojnar rumbled over. Andrew Kealy converted.
Former Irish international Reggie Corrigan is among the Greystones coaching team and his side had to defend for much of the game.
Bryan McKeever almost got through for a Navan touchdown late on while in the closing seconds player/coach Alan Kingsley broke through but his 'try' was disallowed much to the dismay of the home contingent.
Kingsley also missed a number of penalties.
