Trim Celtic's cup hopes go west
There was no joy for Trim Celtic as they were defeated 1-3 by Westport Utd in the last 32 of the FAI Junior Cup at Tully Park today.
The game turned out to be a memorable occasion for Westport striker JP O'Gorman who grabbed a hat-trick.
O'Gorman struck in the 41st, 67th and 78th minutes to scupper Trim Celtic's ambitions.
The visitors were roared on by a big contingent of supporters who travelled from Westport.
Trim Celtic's only goal arrived on the 42nd minute when Ian Keenan headed home. The goal equalised O'Gorman's opener and left the sides level at the break.
However, Westport who won the FAI Junior Cup in 2005, had a sharper cutting edge up front and deservedly claimed victory.
