Navan duo set for international honours
Navan u-17 players Conor Hand and Conor Farrell are in line for an appearance in the green of Ireland after they were included in the national youths squad for a game against Italy at Colorno on Saturday.
Both are back row players with Farrell usually lining out at open-side flanker and Hand at number eight.
The duo were part of the Navan team that won the All-Ireland u-17 title in 2013 and the North-East u-16 selection that claimed the Shane Horgan Cup.
They also featured on the Leinster team that was victorious in the Inter-provincial series this season.
“All international caps are a tremendous honour for our club,” said Navan RFC youth co-ordinator Scott Ennis.
“We wish both lads every success on Saturday. Both players have been playing rugby at Balreask Old since they were seven.”
