Two major school projects start in Meath this week
Two major school projects will start in Meath this week with sod turning ceremonies at new school buildings at Duleek National School and Navan Educate Together School.
In fact two separate 16 classroom schools, one for boys and one for girls will start construction in Duleek this week.
The sod turning ceremony takes place on Friday on a site adjacent to the existing boys and girls national schools.
In Navan, the sod turning ceremony takes place at the Educate Togeher’s new site at Dufflands, Commons Road, Navan tomorrow.
The new Navan school is a two-storey building with 16 classrooms, a general purpose room and a special needs unit.
The five-acre site for the new school is located next to Milbury Nursing Home.
There are two new schools under construction in Duleek and they are hoping to be moving into their new accommodation next year.
Two separate 16 classroom schools are being constructed.
Each school will have its own general purposes room, but they are linked and can be opened up into an extra large general purposes room for special events.
Each of the schools will have 16 classrooms, a library, up to six resource rooms, principals office, staff room and other offices.
There will also be a basketball court on site.
